The Real Reason You Keep Ignoring What You Already Know

Uriel1 June 2026

Something happened last week.

You had a feeling. A wrong one. The kind that sits in your chest and won't move.

And you ignored it.

Again.

You told yourself you were overthinking it. That you didn't have enough information. That maybe you were being too dramatic.

But you weren't being dramatic. You were being smart. You were listening to something that most people never learn to hear.

Your intuition. And you just silenced it again.

Why You Keep Overriding Your Own Signal

Here is what nobody tells you about intuition:

It is not a feeling. It is data.

Your nervous system has been collecting information since the day you were born. Every conversation that went slightly wrong. Every person who made you feel small. Every moment you swallowed what you really wanted to say. That data is still in there. And when something matches a pattern you have seen before, it sends a signal.

That tightness in your stomach. That pause before you answer. That little voice that says something is off here.

That is not anxiety. That is pattern recognition. That is your brain doing exactly what it was built to do.

And you override it. Every time.

Why?

Because listening to it is expensive. Listening to it means you have to do something. It means the situation you are in is not as fine as you told yourself it was. It means a conversation you have been avoiding needs to happen. It means the job you hate is actually making you sick. It means the man who seemed so good on paper is not good for you.

Listening costs something. So you stay quiet. And you suffer.

What You Are Actually Afraid Of

Let me say the thing you already know.

You are not afraid of being wrong. You are afraid of being right.

If you admit that the job is killing you, you have to quit it. And quitting means admitting that you were wrong about it. That you wasted time. That you should have listened sooner.

If you admit that he is not the one, you have to leave. And leaving means admitting that you ignored the signals for longer than you should have. That you built something on a foundation that was never solid.

Being right means action. And action means risk. And risk means discomfort.

So you stay. In the job. In the relationship. In the situation that has been slowly draining you for months.

You stay because leaving feels more dangerous than enduring.

That is not weakness. That is math. Your brain doing a cost-benefit analysis at a level you are not even consciously aware of.

But here is the problem with that math: it only works if you ignore one side of the ledger. The cost of staying. That is the part you never actually add up.

What Staying Is Actually Costing You

You have gotten so used to the background hum of dissatisfaction that you stopped noticing it.

It is just there. Like tinnitus. You have learned to live with it.

But it is not nothing. That hum is your body telling you that you are in the wrong place. That something needs to change. And every day you ignore it, the cost compounds.

You lose a little more of your energy. You lose a little more of your trust in yourself. You lose a little more of the years you will never get back.

I have sat across from women who came in for a reading because something felt wrong and they needed permission to trust that feeling. Not permission from the cards. Permission from themselves. They needed someone to say: you are not crazy. You are not too sensitive. You are not dramatic.

They needed someone to tell them that the thing they had been ignoring was real.

Most of the time, the cards did not reveal anything they did not already know. The cards just said it out loud. And finally, they let themselves believe it.

The Moment You Stop Fighting It

There is a moment in every woman who finally trusts herself.

It does not feel triumphant. It feels quiet. It feels like exhaling after holding your breath for months.

It feels like finally putting down something you did not realize you were carrying.

That moment is not magic. It is math. It is the moment when the cost of staying finally exceeds the cost of leaving. And you stop asking whether you are right, because the answer has become obvious.

You do not need a tarot reading to know what is wrong. You need to stop pretending you do not already know.

The cards do not tell you what to do. They reflect what you already see. They show you the thing you have been glancing at sideways, hoping it would rearrange itself into something more comfortable.

It will not. And you know it.

What to Do With This Now

Here is what I want you to do tonight.

Not a big action. Not a life-changing decision. Just this:

Sit with the feeling you have been overriding. The one you told yourself was nothing. The one you made a joke about at dinner. The one you texted your friend about and then said I am probably just overthinking it.

Sit with it. And ask yourself: what am I afraid will happen if this feeling is real?

Write down the answer. Do not edit it. Do not make it nicer. Just write what comes up.

That answer is the thing you have been avoiding. And once you see it written down, it stops being a feeling and becomes a fact. And facts you can work with. Feelings you can only endure.

The truth is not comfortable. But it is useful. And you are done being stuck.

That is not a metaphor. That is a direction.

Reality Check

You might be reading this and thinking: okay, but what if I am wrong?

What if I make a big decision and it turns out I was just anxious and the situation was actually fine?

Here is the truth: if you have been ignoring a feeling for weeks, months, or years, it is not anxiety. Anxiety is a weather system. It comes and goes. What you are feeling has roots. And roots do not disappear because you refuse to look at them.

You are not too sensitive. You are not too dramatic. You are not imagining things.

You are finally paying attention to something you should have paid attention to a long time ago. And that is not a mistake. That is growth.

---

You have two options.

Close this page and go back to ignoring it. Tell yourself it will pass. Wait for the feeling to fade like it always does.

Or book a reading and say out loud what you have been saying to yourself for months. Let a deck of cards and a stranger with no stake in your life tell you what you already know. Sometimes hearing it from outside makes it real enough to finally act on.

No comfort. No sugar-coating. Just the cards and whatever comes up.

One of those options changes something. The other one does not.
